As an Elementary Teacher, you will:

  • Develop and implement rigorous, standards-aligned lesson plans targeted with an end goal of student performance at or above grade level expectations.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and students, driving investment in school culture and academics.
  • Analyze student achievement and behavioral data collaboratively with colleagues and School Leadership to critically and strategically respond to the needs of students.
  • Work to continuously improve effectiveness in all instructional practices through targeted feedback and collaborative training with colleagues.
  • Model school core values at all times when engaging with students, families, or community members.
  • Assist school leadership with student recruitment and enrollment.

Requirements:

To be considered as a Teacher, you must:

Overview:

Our Special Education Teacher is a critical role in ensuring all our students are positioned to achieve excellence by providing additional supports and interventions to our students with special needs. The Special Education Teacher will work closely with teachers and leadership to build, maintain, and oversee a positive, supportive school culture. Your job is threefold: (1) build authentic relationships with students and families, (2) work with school leadership and classroom teachers to ensure students receive necessary interventions, (3) Manage Special Education Students caseload and ensure compliance.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Special Education Teacher, you will:

  • Collect and analyze data daily to identify students whose non-academic needs (e.g. health, behavior, or attendance) jeopardize their potential academic success or the academic success of their peers.  
  • Develop intervention strategies and track student progress in response.
  • Build strong relationships with families and communicate student progress in non-academic areas.
  • Manage a space for students to address non-academic issues and facilitates student success in the classroom.
  • Provide daily and weekly support to school leadership during whole school transitions.
  • Assist school leadership with student recruitment and enrollment.

 

Requirements:

To be considered as a Special Education Teacher, you must:

  • Have a track record of producing dramatic, demonstrable student achievement gains with a minimum of three years’ experience in an urban public-school setting.
  • Background check passed, required.
  • Have the ability to build strong relationships quickly.
  • Be a strong problem solver, able to adapt and execute quickly.
